The first “Peace, Love and Fun in the Sun Music Festival”, held on Sunday, September 2nd at the Ventura Harbor Village was a great success. People came and went all day and everyone had a great time. The weather was perfect and the views were gorgeous. The festival was free to everyone and featured great live entertainment from 12:30 to 6:30 pm as well as things for everyone in the family to do.
This event was held to bring people together from everywhere to have some fun, enjoy the natural beauty of the Ventura Harbor and hear some great music in the tradition of the peaceful concerts of the 60’s and 70’s.
Besides listening to some great live music there were activities for the kids like a Castle Jumpy with a slide, a train ride and pony rides. There were also different types of food from the local merchants. The Promenade with it's beautiful waterfront views was filled with people all afternoon.
Performing live were some great performers and bands including “Aspen” a vocal harmony adult orientated rock band who has toured and worked with many national acts, The Hard Miles Band, performing their unique brand of blues rock, "Sea Cloud", who features great vocal harmonies and has the distinction of being together for over 20 years, The Daily Routine, an original band not to be missed, AOL musician of the week winner "Ronna Jones" , "Paul Starling", and "Bricklayer Love". E. Legal Records invited everyone to join them in the fight against hunger and bring a sealed can of food which many guests responded to. All the food and donations collected were given to FOOD Share, Ventura County's food bank.
So hopefully you made it to the Ventura Harbor Village on September 2nd and enjoyed a beautiful summer day, heard some great music and were a part of the 1st "Peace, Love and Fun in the Sun Music Festival”. We'll see you next year!!
